happy weekend – diy paper garland pinwheels
well kids, i thought today would never come. it has been the longest week hasn’t it? so i leave you with a project to do this weekend, evil-designs first homemade diy.
being a designer i’m fond of paper, and yesterday i had about 20 min to play with it. i always have a folder of bookmarks of things i would like to try and i guess today the planets lined up and the skys opened and i was able to have some down time to do mindless work. i found this cool diy. i found a more efficient way of doing it so i thought i’d share.
here we go. sorry for the crappy photos, only phone camera with me today.
so you start off with paper, colors up to you, i prefer earthy tones.
crinkle those bad boys up. kind of time consuming, but it beats a design crisis.
when done with the entire strip – my favorite thing other than glue, double sided tape – a lot less messy. take a thin strip (usually cut in thirds) place it on one end (as you see in the photo above).
put the adjacent ends together forming a circle. kind of looks like a reese’s cup wrapper.
here is where my stuff deviates from the other tutorials out there….
other tutorials glue to hold the pinwheel flat. i have no patience for glue….take some double sided tape – the number 2 of the 1/3 and stick it on one part of what will be the interior. flatten that baby out and tape adjacently so you form a brace on the pinwheel. flip over and do the same so it has support on both sides. if you followed my aloof directions and did it right you would get this:
and then you can do a garland (which i had no string) so i made it a pretty flower….strange, but pretty flower.
whaalaaaa – my first actual diy…hope you enjoy.
have a fun safe weekend!!!! see ya monday

I’m making them now
Have a Great weekend
