happy weekend – diy paper garland pinwheels
well kids, i thought today would never come. it has been the longest week hasn’t it? so i leave you with a project to do this weekend, evil-designs first homemade diy.
being a designer i’m fond of paper, and yesterday i had about 20 min to play with it. i always have a folder of bookmarks of things i would like to try and i guess today the planets lined up and the skys opened and i was able to have some down time to do mindless work. i found this cool diy. i found a more efficient way of doing it so i thought i’d share.
here we go. sorry for the crappy photos, only phone camera with me today.
so you start off with paper, colors up to you, i prefer earthy tones.
crinkle those bad boys up. kind of time consuming, but it beats a design crisis.
when done with the entire strip – my favorite thing other than glue, double sided tape – a lot less messy. take a thin strip (usually cut in thirds) place it on one end (as you see in the photo above).
put the adjacent ends together forming a circle. kind of looks like a reese’s cup wrapper.
here is where my stuff deviates from the other tutorials out there….
other tutorials glue to hold the pinwheel flat. i have no patience for glue….take some double sided tape – the number 2 of the 1/3 and stick it on one part of what will be the interior. flatten that baby out and tape adjacently so you form a brace on the pinwheel. flip over and do the same so it has support on both sides. if you followed my aloof directions and did it right you would get this:
and then you can do a garland (which i had no string) so i made it a pretty flower….strange, but pretty flower.
whaalaaaa – my first actual diy…hope you enjoy.
have a fun safe weekend!!!! see ya monday
twest mural
more client work! just finished the t-west girl down at the local pub. normally we don’t do murals because of their time consuming nature, however, this was an exception. based on the t-shirts we did not too long ago, there she is overlooking the pool table. I hope she doesn’t get hit on too much

happy monday – winter stopped by.
good morning loveliesĀ – for those of us northeastern dwellers we received our first taste of winter over the weekend. some of us (myself included were not prepared at all, then again it was 60 last week.) time to dig out the ice scrappers and shovels. one of my biggest issues with this time of year is snow/slush/nasty stuff that your boots bring in the home. especially on wood floors. here are some nice fixes to help with those wet boots.
stay warm.

Joe’s House – Osburn/Clarke

Cannon Beach Residence – Nathan Good Architect, P.C.
Maybe I have a profound respect for architecture because I have no mathematical skills at all and can only dream of being as bad-ass as these architects we post here. Take this bad boy…the Cannon Beach Residence, a yummy compilation of Nathan Good (architect) and Georgia Erdenberger (interior designer). Bring the outside in… l o v eĀ i t. Oh yea, and on top of it looking phenomenal it also is very green. Read about it here.

So nice.
Tye River Cabin – Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects
Man, that is one long title.
OSKA is a Seattle based architecture firm (why are all the cool modern house/cabin designs from WA? I think they put some awesome pills in the water there) any-do…here are some photos of the hotness that is the Tye River Cabin.
